Williamsburg Location Temporarily Closed
April 13th Update
Happy Monday Loyal Friends,
We wanted to share a quick update on our Williamsburg location. Repairs and inspections are taking a little longer than expected and we want to make sure everything is in tip top shape before we reopen. We expect a busy weekend!
Our Williamsburg restaurant will now reopen on Thursday, April 16 at 11am.

April 8th Update
Happy Wednesday Afternoon Loyal Friends,
As many of you know, we experienced a small gas leak in the kitchen early Monday morning after closing. We are incredibly thankful no one was injured and that the damage was largely cosmetic. We’re also deeply grateful for the outpouring of support and concern from this community.
On Monday, we worked closely with City of Williamsburg Code Compliance, the Health Inspector, and several trusted tradesmen to assess the damage and map out repairs. As we opened things up, we discovered a few additional issues that need attention — the reality of working in a 50-year-old building.
As a result, we will remain closed for the rest of the week so the repairs can be done the right way. We are working diligently to get everything ready so we can welcome our friends and family back to their favorite restaurant as soon as possible.
In the meantime, if you need a 2nd St fix, please visit our Newport News location. They’ll be happy to see some Williamsburg regulars.

Dear family, friends and loyal fans,
At the end of the night on Sunday, April 6, we discovered a small gas leak. Thankfully no one on our team was hurt. After consulting with the City of Williamsburg and the Williamsburg Fire Department, we have decided to close Second St Williamsburg on Tuesday, 4/7 & Wednesday 4/8 out of an abundance of caution. The safety of our guests and staff is our top priority, and we are working quickly to resolve the issue.
We are extremely grateful for the Williamsburg Fire Department for their swift and professional response to our call and keeping everyone safe. It is reassuring to know that we have such skilled and compassionate individuals protecting our community.
Thank you for your continued love and support for Second St as we navigate the next few days. We anticipate reopening Thursday, April 9, 2026.
While our Williamsburg location will be closed for a couple days, 2nd St Newport News is fully operational and will remain open on regular operating hours.
